Entrepreneurial, focused and determined, Cristiana, Cris to her colleagues, shared a little of her life with us and let us know a very curious side of her! Shall we get to know her?
- What was the most unusual or interesting job you had before joining our team?
My Açaí kiosk. I'd never worked directly for the customer before, it was the most different thing I've done to date. I used to make tapioca all day and I loved it! I'd even say it was the best tapioca in the UBBO shopping center in Amadora.
- If you could swap positions with anyone at Softway for a day, who would it be and why?
Actually, I wouldn't swap with anyone. I can't think of one specific person. Vasco (our Creative Director) is the soul of the office, he has a very interesting creative side. Miguel (our Development Director) is very intelligent, he always has a solution for everything, an idea. Now... I wouldn't swap with anyone.
- What's your favorite office snack, and do you have a secret place to keep it?
I don't have anything saved. I confess I love the cheesecakes from A Vaca que Ri.
- If you could have dinner with any historical figure, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Pope Francis, because he had a line of religion that really gets me: inclusion. That we have to respect people as they are. It would have been a good conversation!
- What's your ritual that helps you get through stressful days?
The walks I take with my dog, Dudu. He's 10 years old now, but he manages to keep up with me perfectly. It's been my therapy! Walking, and writing. I also love to write, about everything, about my life. And God willing, it'll turn into a book!
- If you were given a week's all-expenses-paid vacation tomorrow, which place would you choose?
I wouldn't hesitate and I'd visit my parents in São Paulo, Brazil. I miss them terribly. But if it was purely a vacation, I'd love to visit Thailand.
- If you were prime minister, what would be the first law you would propose in parliament?
I would definitely set a minimum wage for everyone, depending on their profession, years of work, etc. In Brazil we have a salary classification by profession that establishes a minimum that people should receive within each career. In Portugal, there isn't one. In addition, I would implement a mandatory annual salary adjustment, just like in Brazil.
- What's the best piece of advice you've ever received, and who gave it to you?
In my personal life, my parents never really gave us advice. They gave us examples and I learned from an early age that I had to do the right thing: be honest and hard-working.
My father is an example of dedication to work. Today, at 82, he is still a bricklayer. That's why he always told me: if you want to achieve something, you have to work. In the business world, my former boss's father gave her a piece of advice that I chose to follow when I started my own business: when you start a business, start doing the right thing straight away. If you have to pay, pay. That way, you get used to doing the right thing from the start and everything will be fine.
- If you could go back in time, what advice would you give yourself?
I'd say to go my own way, with confidence. I'm a very anxious person, and the truth is that we can't control most things that happen. So it's about going and trusting in fate (according to what we can only control).
- What profession would you like to have if you weren't working at Softway?
Definitely a writer. I would have liked to have dedicated myself more to writing. I believe we have great power when we write, because we can help and support other people. But I'm very embarrassed when I share something of mine, I'm ashamed to death. Who knows... one day?
