Last Thursday, we broke from routine. We traded screens for trails, code for dust, and the sound of notifications for the rumble of jeep engines. We set off towards the Serra de Sintra, tyres full and minds light, ready for a different kind of day.

Today, we shine a spotlight on someone who usually prefers to stay behind the scenes. In this week’s edition of The Interview Diaries, it’s time to get to know our CTO and founder, Nuno Portela, a little better. Calm, discreet, and naturally gifted at solving any kind of problem, be it code, office logistics, or gardening, Nuno is the kind of person who can build software from scratch and also create 3D renders of the new office layout. 

It wasn’t exactly your typical summer postcard setting. The sky was heavy, a light drizzle threatened to ruin our plans, and the Tagus didn’t exactly look like it was on holiday. But some things not even bad weather can stop — and one of them is the Softway team’s determination to have fun together.

In this week's Interview Diaries I introduce you to our Finance expert. With a degree in Accounting and a career in Finance, our tapioca specialist dreamed as a teenager of working at McDonald's, but as fate would have it, she came to Softway.

Back to the Interview Diaries, I present to you Maria Callapez. Throughout 2025, the talented DJ joins Softway. From mixing tables to graphic design for websites, she joins the team not to play music, but to dedicate herself to the art of creating graphic mockups and web moods for websites and landing pages.

2025 is here and we're already missing everything we experienced in 2024. From cooking workshops to paddle tennis matches and some socialising, teamwork is always present among everyone at Softway.
