When you male a decision to move forward with a new website project, whether from scratch or a redesign of the current website to make it more modern, relevant and effective, it is not mandatory that you have to know how to prepare a super complete, well-structured and with all the terms and keywords used in the digital universe. No one should feel the pressure of having to know how to "speak the best web language" when looking for the right partner to go together with this new project.

However, there are fundamental questions that must be answered, believing that the more and better you think about your business goals, positioning, expected results (kpi's), or even target, etc ... the better the answer will be on our side, on the side of those who are excited to hear from you and want to help build the best briefing together, before making your decision to move forward.

So, it is very important to answer some topics in advance, even in an internal brainstorming, with your team, with your employees, to the following topics:

  • How do you define yourself in the market?
  • What is the history of the project?
  • What are the main objectives for the new website?
  • What is your core business? In what services / products are you strong?
  • What is your business target?
  • What do you like the most on the current site, if you have one?
  • What does not work at all on the current site, if you have one?
  • Do you have any Google Analytics reports for the current site that you can check and share, to better understand and analyze the behavior of your users? For example: what are the most relevant accesses your website has? Google organic search, social media posts? Among other very important variables: target, page views, most visited areas, duration of visits, etc…;
  • What menu structure should the new site have, in your vision?
  • What information is essential to have on the new website? Text and image / video content? (you don’t need to send the final texts in this first approach)
  • What sites do you love the most? Benchmark from the same sector, and / or from different business sectors;
  • Ideal but not mandatory answer: budget available for the new website, or upper limit that cannot be exceeded under consequence of making the project unachievable…

By being able to answer these questions in a thoughtful and minimally structured way, in a word document, for example, without major headaches, you will certainly receive the strategic and budget proposal that best fits your expectations and objectives, after a short conf call / debrief meeting where together we will analyze what you have prepared.
